Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Geo-Grocer (the "Service"), operated by Geo-Grocer ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 9 years old to use Geo-Grocer. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@geo-grocer.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, databases, or other systems.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
- Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service at scale.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
4. Location Data
The Service uses your device's location to provide geofence alerts and nearby store detection. On iOS, we request "Always Allow" location permission to deliver alerts even when the app is in the background or closed. You control this permission at any time through your device Settings. We process location data as described in our Privacy Policy and do not retain location history on our servers.
5. Household and Shared Lists
The Service allows you to invite other registered users to a shared household. Once accepted, household members may view your name within the app. You may share individual grocery lists with household members as view-only or fully editable. By sharing a list you grant that member access to view or edit its contents until you remove their access or remove them from your household.
Household notifications — such as alerts when a member is near a store or when a shared list is completed — are part of the Service and will be sent to relevant household members automatically based on location and list activity.
6. Your Content
You retain ownership of the store data, grocery lists, and other content you create in the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you and any household members you grant access to. We do not claim any ownership over Your Content.
7. Intellectual Property
The Geo-Grocer name, logo, and all software, design, and text not authored by users are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced or used without written permission.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with Google Maps and Google Places. Your use of those features is also subject to Google Maps Platform Terms of Service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that geofence alerts will fire at any particular time or with any particular accuracy. Store hours, busyness estimates, and other information derived from third-party APIs are provided for convenience only and may not be accurate.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Geo-Grocer and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Profile page. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.
